Course Details
This course is designed specifically for patrol teams operating in three-officer configurations, providing practical, real-world tactics for safely entering and clearing structures during incidents. Recognizing that many patrol responses involve limited personnel, this training focuses on how three officers can effectively coordinate movement, manage responsibilities, and maintain officer safety without the resources of a full tactical team.
Officers will learn how to assign roles within a three-person element, make sound entry decisions based on threat level and exigency, and apply disciplined room-clearing techniques that maximize coverage while minimizing exposure while incorporating shield movements. Emphasis is placed on communication, proper positioning, sector responsibility, shield movements, and controlling angles in confined locations like apartments, homes and businesses.
Key Topics Include:
Role assignment in a 3-officer team (Shield, Contact/Cover, Rear Security)
When and why to deploy a ballistic shield in patrol operations
